Welcome to the online home of Westcroft Gardens. We are the oldest family owned and operated farm in the state. Established on July 6, 1776, Westcroft is currently owned by the 7th generation of Macomb descendants and operated by the 8th generation.
Westcroft Gardens is a plant nursery, specializing in azaleas and rhododendrons. We grow our own shrubs, perennials, annuals and wildflowers, and also offer trees, herbs and vegetable plants. To help acid loving plants thrive in the mostly alkaline soils of the Midwest, Westcroft makes and sells its own acid soil conditioner: Greenleaf Compound.
Westcroft has a beautiful four acre botanical garden open to the public year round that boasts the many varieties of azaleas and rhododendrons, including hybrids created here at Westcroft by former owner Ernest Stanton. The gardens are also available for wedding and event rentals.
Westcroft also provides an additional 13 acres of woods that are decorated for Halloween Hayrides.
We are still closed for winter but are hard at work getting ready for this season! Weather depending, we hope to have our shrubs and trees available April 23rd, but all of our annuals and perennials will be available for our annual Mother's Day Weekend Open House May 12th & 13th! Check out our Facebook page to see pictures of our annuals and perennials growing in our greenhouses!
As always, the gardens may be enjoyed by walkers from dawn to dusk every day of the year and may still be rented for photography sessions or small events throughout the winter by reservation only. Please visit our Wedding & Event Rental page for more information.
Our sincere thanks go out to everyone that came to our historic family farm to buy plants, walk the gardens, have an event here, or enjoy our Halloween Hayrides. We look forward to another great year in 2018!
